World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The item upgrade lets players increase the gear rating of an item by up 700 points, and then give it a bonus. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory, and then taking them to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For instance an excellently rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons don't really change after an upgrade, and aren't worth the cost.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to increase their numeric stats such as the chance to crit, attack damage PvE and damage to PvP. They also have a flat bonus which increases their damage per second. Additionally, many weapons have an added bonus that is activated when three or more of the same weapon are present on a single unit. This bonus could exceed the damage that a weapon upgrade alone can cause.
The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the nature of the weapon as well as its current level. For example, an +2 weapon requires two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a gun will increase until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.
Upgraded weapons can also alter their base stats. While this is generally an excellent thing, it can have some negative effects as well. For items that are only used in a certain build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance) upgrading them can make them unusable unless you get a lucky roll.
The ability to upgrade armor items to improve their performance. For instance, if you have chests or helms, this will increase the defense of its base, while gloves and belts will improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor also has the option of rerolling its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it may change its roll to a lower value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats that it will gain after upgrading, along with the relative value of those stats. This means that a weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will hit for 3 fewer times, since it is an absolute statistic.
Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button within the item menu, using the arrows that circle. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats, but not reset the weapon's levels, or connect it to an account's status.
Armor
A few upgrades to your armor can make a huge difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets provide massive increases in poison or curse, fire, and magic resistance, which can make it easier to navigate through tough terrain. In general, the greater defense you have on your character, the more health you'll receive from each point. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade your armor.
To improve your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four of them each of which requires you to complete a specific side quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've completed the main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.
Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels and the amount of material and Rupees needed for each level will differ. You'll require anything from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and between five Rubies or ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, as an example can be upgraded to an increase of 5 defense rating, which will allow you to keep up in frigid environments with a lot of enemies. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded as high as +20 defense, which means you're able to survive a battle with friends.
You can't upgrade your armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor to increase physical power or the power of spells. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades for the armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you use for the final boss battle and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

You can also unlock some benefits to your armor by giving the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. It is generally recommended to save these upgrades for the weapon that you'll use to beat the game. For instance, the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have a few upgrades to the armor on your chest and helmets to let you escape some monsters.
Potions
Potions are bottled substances that, when consumed, give the user the illusion of status for a few minutes. There are five kinds of potions, each with different effects and durations. Some potions may be upgraded, increasing their effectiveness. Additionally, the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to them.
Potion upgrades require a certain amount XP. This can be obtained through crafting them on a table or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion and the item's Rarity and Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion, right-click on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This opens an GUI where you can select the potions you wish to upgrade and the amount of XP they will give you when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at once, and their XP will be added to the total XP you currently have.
Once a potion is upgraded, it won't degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it is stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to change the name of the potion.
There were a few updates to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. For example splash potions now have the duration of 0.08 seconds (this is not the same as the 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display of the item). The table for potion is now made of four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It can now be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. Contrary to Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions cannot be used in cauldrons. This is the same for using a potion within an empty cauldron. This will drain the liquid, and then refill the bottle.
Finally, there are simmering potions made using dragon breath and splash potions. Similar to lingering potions, the can be enhanced by adding redstone to it. The potion table is rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, for instance, the potion of leaping and decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket can be a small, inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. It could be a reference to an object or ornament that serves a purpose but isn't particularly significant like a thimble. In certain cultures, a trinket can be used to express friendship or affection between family members.
In addition to armor, weapons and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. These can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Trinkets unlike other items which can be upgraded can be traded at will without losing stats.
The upgrade vendors can be found in major cities and in the capital of each zone, and in in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be bought with tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.
Upgrades to trinkets are an economical alternative to buying a new one. It is possible to upgrade a player for just 12 tokens. The new trinket has the same level of base as the old trinket, but will also have an additional 1% bonus upgrade.
Once the old Trinkets are not usable they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase both their power and value with time. They can be traded between players and are a viable alternative to gold.
In general players should make upgrades to their highest priority items first. This usually refers to the most valuable-in-slot items for their class, then their secondary items and finally, other pieces of gear that will not be replaced soon (for example, a ring or cloak). When deciding on the items to upgrade, players should also take into account the class's preferred stats. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to a tank player and they want to upgrade their chest, helm and shoulders.
Trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level once they are no longer useful, and the new trinket will receive an additional 1% upgrade bonus. However, a re-upgrade is likely to destroy the old trinket in the event that it is not saved using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, however it is still cheaper than purchasing an entirely new trinket.
